Minister Avcı promotes the world’s biggest education portal, the New EIN

Speaking at the promotion ceremony of New Education Information Network (EIN) held at Eskişehir Öğretmenevi, Minister Avcı said they are hosting journalists to present the latest phase of the FATİH project.

Minister Avcı referred to the presentation of General Director of Innovation and Education Technologies Dinçer Ateş regarding the FATİH Project and EIN and stated that it has been from the details of the project that they will provide excitement for teachers and students.

Noting that EIN is the most important component of world’s biggest education technology project namely the FATİH project, Minister Avcı said, “A silent revolution that has a deep impact on the whole of our education system is taking place at the classrooms.”

EIN provides 24 hour service to our education community

Minister Avcı stressed that the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies is a department focusing on the World’s most qualified education products adding that, “We are all proud of seeing that the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies has become a national institution.”

Stating that the experts of the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies are working a night and day effort to develop outstanding contents, Minister Avcı, “Visiting foreign education ministers want to make sure to visit this department and ask us to sign cooperation protocols with them.”

Minister Avcı noted that such offers did not only come for African or Asian countries but also from European countries and added:

Everyone knows that this site is accessible for the whole of Turkey. Our students can visit the site throughout the day. Thanks to EIN, there is no need for teachers and students to ask parents to purchase supplementary textbooks, supplementary educational material. All kinds of supplementary material, exercises and test samples that are needed by teachers and students are already in EIN. If a student misses a class or fails to understand the chapter or wants to learn about it from another teacher, they can learn it from uploaded video images of most experienced and successful teachers giving lectures. Our students especially 8 and 12 graders who need preparation for a higher education institute shall benefit from these video lectures. In other words, EIN offers all kinds of solutions in case a student needs a supplementary education material. This means the end of piracy. Parents will no longer be robbed. This also reveals the source and reason of recent claims that the FATİH project had collapsed.

Yes, the FATİH project has has put an end to piracy. Thanks to the FATİH Project, we prevent pirate publishers robbing parents even without getting a banderole. Here, in this project, we are offering the best supplementary educational materials to our children.

“Content of lectures are developed by teachers, too“

Content of lectures at the EIN are not only developed by the experts of the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies but also by teachers, Minister Avcı noted and went to say that this work initiated by teachers as a test provided encouraging results.

Minister Avcı said required organizations have been prepared allowing teachers to access the information needed in order to produce educational material adding that they have founded studios in various parts of Turkey which are similar to the ones in the Directorate General for Innovation and Education Technologies in order to teach the technique needed for more professional production.

Minister Avcı’s memory about electric circuits of EIN

Minister Avcı mentioned his memory about watching a video at EIN teaching electric circuits with a song when he was newly appointed to the position of the Minister of National Education.

Minister Avcı said that he had the opportunity to examine lesson products at EIN prepared by teachers just a day before world’s largest and more renowned contnxt producers had a presentation at the Ministry and went on to say:

“I choose a subject from the database of EIN and I had no information about that subject. I was wondering if the lecture could teach me something. I was telling myself that the program should be considered as successful if they learn something from it. Electric circuits are the subject I had difficulty in understanding since high school. There was a program at EIN named “training on electric circuits with music” and it was prepared by two teachers. They used popular folk song and changed its lyrics with facts about electrical circuits. Images were not professional but it was perfect in terms of teaching strategy. I was singing this song about electric circuits while I was shaving in front of mirror next morning. I did not forget the lyrics.”

He said when the representatives of that producer company came to the Ministry to make their presentation; he saw that they decided to show how their system teaches electrical circuits. “They used the visual material out of text books in a professional shoot. But it was just a visual text book and simple class. They tried to color it up with some American jokes but it was not possible to remember and it was not easy to understand,” Minister Avcı said.

Noting that he had told the Turkish company who recommended that foreign firm about the lesson on electric circuits with music, Minister Avcı went on to say “It showed us that when something is done with good will and with the heart, the result could be more effective. Now, EIN allows us to do this in a more professional way. Allah’s willing, the world’s most developed education platform namely EIN will become an international example that every country would like to use.”

Minister Avcı noted that every student can access EIN by using their password provided by the school and every parent shall have the opportunity to see what EIN offers to their children. Minister Avcı said the Ministry aims at making assessment based on the quality and quantity of the effort that teachers and students display adding:

“Let’s say that it is considered a success when a student solves a problem in the mathematics class. Educators can evaluate this success but sometimes a student cannot solve a problem but displays hard work. He or she works in an effort to solve the problem. Education should include assessment of this effort, too. Due to this reason, we shall make an assessment of a student by considering when, how and how much a student works in an effort to learn more. This will give us the opportunity to make a performance assessment based on his effort not only according to the result.”

Noting that the FATİH Project was awarded in Italy last year, Minister Avcı added, “This award reveals that the FATİH Project is appreciated not only in our country but by the whole world. We can the proud children of the nation that initiated this project.
